Best RV Campgrounds in Iowa

If you love the outdoors, then the state of Iowa has lots to offer. They have recreation areas, parks, and 70 state forests. You’ll also find the Iowa great lakes and miles of cornfields. Don’t be put off with the latter; there are just as many rolling hills, rivers, lakes, and prairies in Iowa.

There are also lots of road trips that’ll take you through various landscapes across this beautiful state. Corn on the cob, loose meat sandwich also known as “tavern bun”, and quad city-style pizza, are a few of the favorite meals in this state.

There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a camping location.

The Length of an RV is vital as some can be quite big, and the campgrounds might not accommodate them. The hookups that they offer are also important as all three might not be available at one campground. Having electricity, water, and sewer is quite vital for an extended stay.

It would be best to make sure of the facilities they have on offer to make your stay more enjoyable. If you have kids and want to experience outdoor fun, then choosing a venue with some entertainment will be crucial.

Let’s have a look at a few of the best RV Campgrounds I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.

PS. If you own a Tundra, check out our 2021 Tundra kit recommendations here.

In the park, there are two campgrounds; Park Terrace and Summit. They both have hosts who’ll assist you on arrival, and both have full hookups available.

They don’t take any reservations and operate on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

I was very pleased with the facilities and found it to be spacious and well maintained.
